Boy Scout Troop 144 presents the event of the year: Family Campout

Accommodations:

The fund raiser will be help on May 16 at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church. Scouts, you need to be selling tickets. Tickets to the Spaghetti Dinner are $5. The dinner will be held from 4:00 to 7:00.

Souts - remember to bring an item for the Silent Auction to the meeting on May 11. Also remember to bring a dessert to the Spaghetti Dinner before 4:00 pm.

It has been a while since I have been able to visit the troop website. So much has been going on within our troop and my personal life but I'm going to try and post more often. I thought of a neat way to help direct you to the troop website during my actual scoutmaster's minute. This is what I said this evening if you were at the meeting:

This Saturday we're having a leadership training event up at the Birdville Baptist Church. The address is 3141 Carson Street in Haltom City. It will be in the Family Life Center which is on Walker Street that runs beside the church.

Start: 9:00am
End: around 1:30pm

If you are in a leadership position or considering running for one, please make every effort to come to this. Lunch will be provided.

The Troop Committee Meeting is tomorrow evening, Thursday, 12 February 2009, at 6:30 PM at Davis Memorial United Methodist Church.
All adults and Scouters are invited as well as our Senior Patrol Leader, David Barker.

The Spaghetti Dinner was originally planned for 7 March and has had to be postponed. This fundraiser will be discussed at the meeting, coming up with a new date. Other topics for discussion will be the upcoming campouts -- March, April, and May; summercamp, Twin Arrows and the crossover ceremonies on the 21st of February.

STORM WARNING FOR SIGNIFICANT ICING FOR THE NORTHERN TWO THIRDS OF
NORTH TEXAS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 12 PM
CST WEDNESDAY.

AN ICE STORM WARNING MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF ICE ACCUMULATIONS
WILL MAKE TRAVEL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

Merit Badge College continuation on Saturday Jan. 24th. Meet at the church at 11:30 a.m.

50 Miler warm-up/preparation hikes:
Jan. 31st - 15 miles, cost: $5
Feb. 14th - 25 miles, cost: $5

The Troop Committee Meeting scheduled for Thursday, 15 January 2009, at 6:30 PM is postponed until Thursday, 22 January 2009 at 6:30 PM.

I apologize for the switch to next week and hope next week's date fits in everyone's schedule. My duties as MOM are keeping me home as Benjamin is entertaining an extreme sore throat and cough, and Jimmy is flying in late tonight. I feel as your fearless leader that it's important for me to be in attendance at this meeting.

For my project i am going to do a can food drive at St. John th Apostle Catholic Church(church where roundtable is held). It is this coming Sunday, January 18, 2009. The times are from 7AM to 2PM. I will provide snacks and drinks during the project and then afterwords we are going to Cici's Pizza.

This coming weekend and the weekend after next is the council's annual merit badge college. It is a chance for scouts to get merit badges. We will meet at Cici's Pizza(5300 Rufe Snow Dr North Richland Hills, TX 76180 817-485-4647), We will then drive to Weatherford College (225 College Park Drive, Weatherford, TX 76086 (817) 594-5471) to start the day. We will be back home sometime in the evening hours on saturday. If you have any guestions call me at my house (817) 590-9333.
Hopefully i will see most of you at cici's pizza saturday.
